Same here, I keep a personal archive of the list, and I don't want to
exclude my own posts. So having a copy in my inbox makes it easier than
digging it out of another folder.

Huh? I think the point was that *any* mailing list posted to by way of
gmail behaves this way. It's a gmail issue, not a mailing list issue. We
do send a copy to the poster, unless they have specified for us not to.
