    It was a crucial position that the whiney guy was working in. Not a 
job that can be quickly/easily filled by some Joe off the street.

    As for the Management, some of them believe that "Free software is 
shit". Only through great reluctance and my uncompromising view when it 
comes to paying for and licensing all software we use did they allow 
Free Software to be used.

    When you are looking at close to Free as in Beer (Less than a grand 
for the hardware and OS) or close to $10,000 for a server, its operating 
system and the Client Access Licenses. The choice becomes pretty obvious 
to the bean counter, who still occasionally makes remarks that sounds 
like "Free Software" sneaks off in the night to eat babies.
