The thing a bout managing change is that you have to move foward even if it is un-popular.  Microsoft created enough FUD to mature Windows, hopefully with Vista and it's pricing and other elements might create a gap that will push Linux foward.

I don't think that is as big a problem as some people think.
Remember, before MS Office became popular, WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3
were the "standard" office apps, and somehow people managed to find a
way to use something else, despite resistance. Frankly, if I were an
employer and people were whining about not wanting to use anything but
MS Office, I'd say "OK, well if you can't do it then we'll find someone
who can". Then watch how quickly those people learn the new system. :)
It's just an office app, fer crying out loud, not something worth
risking your job over. They'll get used to it.
