I'll throw a second in there for the Firefox Extension. It is called Video
Downloader. According to the description, it allows you to "Download videos
from Youtube, Google, Metacafe, iFilm, Dailymotion... and other 60+ video
site! And all embedded objects on a webpage (movies, mp3, flash, quicktime,
etc)." It works great. I am on a Mac, so I use iSight to convert the
resultant .flv to .mp4, but I would imaging there are plenty of open source
media converters around.
