This is my first run at debian that has worked, Im coming from Mandravia. I have had a really hard time installing it on my system. I had to fdisk the drives a few times before it would load, for some reason it wouldn't format the drive fully before it tryed to install. Now Im working on getting ssh and my mail server going. I was able to get apache running and want to get everything else up before i start letting people hit my site. This hasn't been real fun to get going but I have learned alot.
Thanks
Jack

Which version? Myself, I'm running both Debian Stable ("Sarge") &
Debian Testing ("Etch") on different systems... (One is a Debian
Etch system running Xen, with two Sarge systems running as VMs...)

In what way are you having a "hard time"? And how are you trying
to install new packages? How is your /etc/apt/sources.list set?
For my Sarge systems at home, I run apt-proxy on one of my systems,
which maintains a partial mirror of all those packages that any of the
systems are using, & the rest of the Sarge systems just point to that
system in /etc/apt/sources.list. The two Etch systems I have
running, are just pointing to a regular Debian repository on the 'net,
for the moment... I also just use the command line tools for
updates; specifically, aptitude...
