I, for one will not miss CompUSA much -- I worked there for a time,
mostly running the Returns counter one Christmas, and back-stabbing
and scapegoating were rampant -- not a pleasant place to work.
I have been to the Fry's in Downer's Grove a number of times -- my
wife's relatives live in nearby Aurora -- and, while not perfect, it
DOES have stuff that's nearly impossible to find locally, both
computer hardware and electronic components.
There used to be a LOT of electronics distributors in this area, but
not any more, "Popular Electronics" magazine is gone... as a long-time
electronic technician, it seems kinda sad. Where WILL the next
generation of electronic experimenters come from?
