It's not *quite* that simple with this one. It has two slots, one at the bottom
of the machine (easy to upgrade and I already had a chip that would work) and also
one deep inside, under the keyboard - and it looks like you have to yank the video
card, too, to get at it. (This laptop is unusual in that it has a removeable video
card.)
Don't get me wrong - I've done this before on another laptop. It's hardly
impossible, but I'm cautious; I need to make sure I have time to devote to the
process if something goes wrong. (Changing out a broken screen in my Palm Treo
took a few weeks because the connection was *much* more finicky than it should
have been.) We have four kids and the holidays are fast approaching.
When and if I bump up the memory, I will also put in a 16MB video card (to
replace the 8MB one in there now) - but that'll have to wait until I have
some xmas money to play with...
