How are they exiting?

Do they need to specifically tell the application that they are exiting
or are they simply closing the telnet application?

Could a heartbeat monitor set to monitor the telnet session then kick
off your "closing script" for you, be what you are looking for? I know
that you can setup heartbeat monitors to do launch off emails if certain
services fail or certain servers on a network give up the ghost. I'd
have to do some reading as I am unsure if you could get it to do what
you are specifically looking for.
