Thanks but unfortunately that did not help. It looks like the default dir for 'zic' was /usr/share/zoneinfo. So when I ran 'zic', it created directories under /usr/share/zoneinfo as below:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 837 2007-03-07 15:14 PST8PDT
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 2007-03-07 15:14 Pacific
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 837 2007-03-07 15:14 MST7MDT
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 56 2007-03-07 15:14 MST
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 56 2007-03-07 15:14 HST
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 837 2007-03-07 15:14 EST5EDT
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 56 2007-03-07 15:14 EST
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 837 2007-03-07 15:14 CST6CDT
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 2007-03-07 15:14 Atlantic
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 3072 2007-03-07 15:14 America

Looks like I had a directory called 'US' under /usr/share/zoneinfo which had

-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 125 2003-09-23 12:06 Samoa
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 1017 2003-09-23 12:06 Pacific
-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 877 2003-09-23 12:06 Mountain
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 549 2003-09-23 12:06 Indiana-Starke
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 130 2003-09-23 12:06 Hawaii
-rw-r--r-- 4 root root 286 2003-09-23 12:06 East-Indiana
-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 1267 2003-09-23 12:06 Eastern
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 1279 2003-09-23 12:06 Central
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 130 2003-09-23 12:06 Arizona
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 840 2003-09-23 12:06 Aleutian
-rw-r--r-- 2 root root 839 2003-09-23 12:06 Alaska
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 811 2003-09-23 16:21 Michigan

I assume I need to get the file 'Detroit' to appear as 'Michigan' under US. Not sure what options I need to use.

Thanks
