I've been trying to set up a server that Ray helped me with in last month's install fest. I'm trying to find a way to get access to the files on the system from another computer in my home network.

I think I have a firewall problem. The ports may be blocked. I can see the server is connected to my (new) router with the routers status web page. A ping to the server fails (I can ping the router). A ping from the router to the server fails too. So, I guess I need to open something up, humm . . .

Using a guide I saw on the Internet, I opened a port (I think I found the right network GUI on my router to do this but I need to find it on my server, SUSE 10). Can someone give me a link to the port numbers needed and perhaps a way to verify which ports are opened?

I used smbclient on the server, it is showing the shares as active.
