How do I get my system to stop looking for this ever few seconds
Linux Mint Debian Edition 4
Now that I am running Linux as my main box again look forward to
learning from the group

Keith,

 ?? The bluez service is the bluetooth demon. Likley the it is installed 
by default and you don't have the bluetooth hardware. If you disable or 
uninstall it then it will probably stop.

To uninstall in the terminal use apt: apt remove bluez
