A lot of Unix-land CAD programs have been ported to Linux.
It's usually no more difficult (and oftentimes, much less
difficult) to port a Unix app to Linux than to port from one 
of the proprietary Unix versions to another (HP-UX, IRIX,
AIX, Solaris).
