[mdlug-newbie] Looking for assistance - we want to help

All:
I hope to be there this month but work travel might put a damper on it. If
it happens, I will bring my laptop in with the hopes of getting sound
drivers loaded (Toshiba). Do you have wireless access there to test as
well? I have many other questions but hope to be a regular to pick up a
wealth of info.

On a separate note, is it in the realm of possibility that Creative might
open the rights to ALSA for the X-FI series of cards? I have read on the
web that "it will never happen" as well as "it might happen".

Welcome to the Metro Detroit Linux User Group. We just had an install fest
near you (Inkster Road Just North of Michigan Ave). We will have meetings
every month on the second Saturday. We'd love to help you get away from
your foolish addiction to Windows. We'll give you free bootable CDs with
Linux and help you with problems.

Another group that many of us belong to is Mug (http://www.mug.org). The
meeting for this group is the second Tuesday (hey, that's in just a few
days). We typically have more formal presentations. Someone may be willing
to help you there as well.

Hope to see you at either or both meetings.
