The drive belts on this thing had a habit of stretching changing the 
speed of the drive.  A disk written by another machine would not work on 
them.  Good luck finding a belt if that is the problem.

Now, I have a few old C-64s around here.  1541 drives too.  If you want 
the help dig you are welcome to try them.
