[mdlug-discuss] Localized Power Outage POTS and DSL

Hello Everyone,
	I'm happy to report that during tonights power outage; that
took most all of Redford, parts of Livonia and Detroit out; everything
behaved as expected. POTS works and maybe not so surprisingly cell as
well, now several hours in. ATT internet stayed up as well and the
generator was plugged in for heat and light. My DSL modem/wireless
stayed up during the tranfer thanks to APC Backups. Now I do understand
that the phone company exchange is most likely outside of the small area
affected, but still it was a good exercise. Since we're pretty much in
the middle of the area affected it might be reasonable to assume the
cell site we use is also affected.
