It wasn't for waterboarding alone.
It was for a pattern of atrocious, inhumane behavior.

Waterboarding was the least of the Japanese offenses.
Broken bones and smashed out teeth were common.
Not to mention malnutrition and starvation (even
during the years when the home islands were still
well supplied from mainland Asia).
Just keep taking everything out of context -- all it does
is make you look completely foolish and naive.
